Apparently trump used an anti-semitic slur in Iowa

Last edited Fri Jul 4, 2025, 02:51 PM - Edit history (1)

"Taking a victory lap", as the press loves to describe it, for his big ugly bill, he referred to bankers as Shylocks. And, according to Aaron Rupar the NYT had a reporter at the scene but the paper ignored the slur in their coverage. Can't say that I'm surprised. I did see a headline about it on nbcnews.com and apparently he claimed he didn't know it was a slur.

He is an idiot, so I am sure he picked it up from his dad, or grandfather's Klan publications he read as a kid.

Those publications use it alot.

Can you imagine how many times people around him who are not illiterate (including his parents) used the term Shylock for it to come to mind so easily? He claims he never heard it as a reference to Jews, but only to usurious bankers. Even if we believe that, it means he's absolutely swimming in antisemitism his entire life.

Disgraceful.
