We can decry the funding cuts, but in truth they wouldn't have impacted the prediction.
What's sad is that there are two-dozen children missing and need to be found.

Nim Kidd, chief of the Texas Division of Emergency Management, told a news conference on Friday night that the National Weather Service (NWS) forecast “did not predict the amount of rain that we saw.”

Maybe Trump shouldn't have defunded the NWS.

If higher-level NOAA/NWS officials, Texas officials, and local officials neglected to respond, the blame must fall on them. Why didn't the camp administration follow the development of events and react accordingly?
