Asked what Congress is doing to help disaster victims during “Fox News Sunday,” House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said, “In a moment like this, we feel just as helpless as everyone else does ... all we know to do at this moment is pray.”

So helpless that Ted Cruz went off to Europe on vacation, kind of like he escaped to Cancun the last disaster.

These people aren't helpless. They just don't care.

Gutierrez is great for pointing out how the GOP approach to public service is to know nothing about problem solving and extend it to how they actually govern by doing nothing.

12. These fake prayers don't represent their churches. They represent the power worshippers of Mammon. Big difference.

We’ve devolved from a communal society to a selfish stingy society that prefers low taxes to community safety. Especially true in Texas but also nationwide. We’ve turned government-run efforts like NASA that took us to the moon over to one man who probably won’t get us to Mars and who only wants to break things.

We’ve run so far away from the word “communist” that we don’t want to do anything as a community anymore.
