It's not really a political issue. There were a lot of reasons. Politics had a part, but there were a lot of other reasons.

The economic conditions that led to the crash were all on the GOP. I've said it about every economic crash: Republicans are NOT economists, they are ideologues. They run the economy based on their flawed ideology. Republican economic ideas fail every time for the majority in this country. The reaction to the 1929 crash was all on Hoover. His solution was to stop spending money. This made the depression so much worse and last a lot longer. I'd say the majority of it was political.

that Trump was once a Democrat. When Democrats rejected his efforts to push his way into the hierarchy of the Democratic Party, Trump turned into a republican.
Trump is loyal to and believes only what best serves Trump.

It's doesn't mean he was ever politically or philosophical aligned with the Democratic Party. It means that's where the power is, or was in the 40's through the 90's. Chump and his father made "friends" with all the NYC mayors and that's a cost of doing business.

Don't forget that when Repukes such as Rudy Giuliani started winning mayoral elections, Chump became HIS friend too. Doesn't mean shit.
