Kerr disaster highlights the folly on GOP led government

GOP leaders seldom seem proactive measures as worthwhile.

"The weatherman is always wrong!"

"You can't trust scientists, they have an AGENDA!"

"It's just common sense!"

"Government just makes everything worse!"

"It's a waste of your taxpayer dollars!"

We're finding out now that an alert system was debated here for YEARS, and never came to fruition. If you put Democrats in charge, they would have talked to the scientists, gotten their recommendations, looped in the first responders, developed a plan, properly budgeted for it, and implemented it. But the GOP thinks those people are all just out to waste your money, and they don't believe a problem exists unless it hurts THEM. Well, now abbott is calling a session of the legislature to get funding for the thing that was talked about for years.
