They believed Trump's lies and Harris didn't push back hard enough on them. I think her campaign was afraid to offend Latino voters. That was a bad miscalculation. She should have highlighted all the deportations Biden was doing.

I read that Biden actually deported more people than Trump did. The difference was that Biden deported criminals.

In my most humble opinion the Harris campaign, and most Democrats for that matter, did push back against lies. The problem is that tRump's lies, Russian propaganda, right wing podcasters, Elmo, etc. etc etc. were putting out such a constant stream of misinformation that it was impossible to keep up.

I don't know much about the S.Fla Latino culture, but it seems they are highly vulnerable to religiously-laden disinformation and then mouth-to-mouth relaying of it. Very little in terms of secular, honest information breaks this strangle-hold.

It's hard to imagine how the S. Florida Cuban community would want to see one of their own deported to Cuba, almost irrespective of how "bad" ICE claims them to be.
