(543 posts)Not taking a side here, but you don't give any reasons for asserting that Bernie couldn't have beaten Trump. If you are going to adamantly assert "NOPE", you must have a reason for saying so.

(363 posts)And imagine the difference it would have made. The mainstream dems were a few steps behind the voters who were hungry for real change, but got lies about change that would have improved their lives and real propaganda. Now we've got change for sure, the shittiest kind imaginable.

(11,681 posts)He's a FAR better liberal and Democrat than any of the "centrist" types, who mainly seem to appease republicons.
I'll take his voting record and positions over the likes of Sinema, Manchin, Fetterman etc.
Hekate
(100,133 posts)Not 3rd party candidates. Not spoiler candidates. Democrats.
Bernie has always held himself apart he and his followers feel such a sense of purity about that.
But. Bernie. Is. Not. A. Democrat.
You signed the Terms of Service. I suggest you reread them.

(11,681 posts)And I'll repeat - his policy and loyalty is more democratic than people like Manchin, Sinema & Fetterman. We need more of him on our side, and fewer backstabbers who take advantage of us.
Unless your point is that people like me are not welcome here, if so just. be. clear. about. it.

(100,133 posts)"Behind him" in what sense? We can learn from anyone. But if you mean vote in the GE for a non-Dem, 3rd-party, spoiler
The answer is no. Again.

(11,773 posts)Trump co-opted the appearance of concern for labor. Dems mostly just doubled down on less effective strategies.

(13,257 posts)Didn't vote in general then is for Trump now. I think he is one of the young guys who feel messed up by women. His girlfriend really screwed him over, got pregnant then moved across the states. He just moved to where she is, got a place to live and job and visitation of his 3 yr old daughter. I am proud of him for that but not his political views.

I really love the guy, he shops in Costco like I do, I think people know he is one of us and cares about us. Not in it for the money.

of the Farmworkers movement because she is now a little old lady did not help. I mean literally shoving Dolores Huerta away from the podium, she who fought and organized beside Cesar Chavez and never gave up when his heart stopped beating.
And Bernie, Saint Bernie, never rebuked them. They behaved abominably toward women at that years Democratic Convention, and he never rebuked them or reined them in.
Bernie has a big blind spot about some of his followers. Bernie has a big blind spot about how women really live and what we do in this world.
I dont want him for president. I want a Democrat.
And, once again, Bernie. Is. Not. A. Democrat.
It's really simple: "as-a" is not the same thing as "is-a".

Bernie deserves a Nobel WAR prize, for
WAR ON OLIGARCHY.
And if the average Joe doesn't know what oligarchy is, here it is, plain as day.
