Same for me. Prior to the election I would watch a few hours/day in the afternoon and evening. Since, I have not bothered to watch more than a few minutes of non-local news (MSNBC). I also stopped watching late night (Colbert) -- just no point.

I stopped watching after the election and only tuned in again, briefly, to see coverage of the LA fires.

I follow the news online and, of course, here on DU.

I'm tired of disingenuous multi millionaires soft pedal bullshit, and lecture me on how smart they are, while refusing to use their platform to NUKE the Republicons and the Billionaires.

We've NEVER had any paid TV, and we lost must access to free TV in the analog to digital conversion several years back.

Other than that, no thanks. I read the news online & listen to NPR News.

Radio (computer radio) on all day pretty much including NPR from various areas of the country, freespeechTV and CBC from Ottawa

I watch FSTV over four hours a day. Three for Thom Hartmann and one for Rick Smith. I also watch a little of the news with Amy Goodman.

I also listen to Background Briefing with Ian Masters and Brad Friedman's Bradcast over the internet too.

But I haven't had cable since 2008.

Since we cut the cord, I don't have access and don't really care to. I rarely even watch local news (usually only if there is bad weather in the area.)

I watched CNN alot when I did, but the amount of commercials made it unbearable. I also watched MSNBC.

One day, Turner Classic Movies disappeared from our line up. (That's what I watched the most)
Hubby said, "That's it. That was the only reason we kept cable". That was six years ago. We also were having trouble with out set top boxes.

I get "the news" from the internet, which is just as bad or good or about the same anyway.

I only miss it when everyone is gonna watch something on MSNBC

I haven't watched cable news since the peak of COVID.

When I turn on my television I go to MSNBC to see if anything has happened or if Orrex’s dream has come true. I find that I pay the most attention to Nicole.

Since the last election, I can't watch much. I watch Nicole Wallace for sure, and Rachel on Monday. I also try to never miss Lawrence O'Donnell. I absolutely love his take on things. If I add another show, it's Chris Hayes. He's excellent too.

But I can't take looking at and hearing about the fat, ugly, orange pig all day long. And it's always all bad. And it makes me feel helpless.

My husband and I just can't take it anymore, so we watch very little. The stress, the anger, the incredulity at what has been allowed to happen to our democracy has taken a toll. Every day is a new "Oh my God! How can he get away with this?"

It's all shit. Oh, wait, it's all shit and ads.

Once the election happened, I had no time for it. They kept showing it in our face why so many voted for the orange ogre but I did not see one where they showed our side. I do not appreciate anything shoved down my throat, and I blame them for this mess.

When I retired, I went to basic cable. It didn’t have the News channels and I don’t miss them. 10 years now.

Once in a while I'll glance at the TV if Mr. Mossfern has it on, but now he watches very infrequently.

Occasionally I'll catch a bit of Rachel Maddow if I'm feeling dangerously cheerful.

I do not miss it one bit.

All they do is normalize the con. They've lost me for good.

I threw away my TV years ago, so I watch zero hours of cable news daily.

I never watch it cable news because I cut the cord a while back.

The closet I come to news is watching Free speech tv and the Stephanie Miller and Thom Hartmann shows.

It's too predictable and too staged (ALL of them). Lately every time I turn on MSNBC or CNN they are giving away air time to MAGAts. WTF?

If something attracts my attention, I will sit and watch more attentively.

They've all pretty much caved to the orange slime.

I prefer to read news online or get it here at DU. Rarely turn TV on during the day.

May not have flipped it on since the inauguration

I read the print copies of NY Times, a local paper, and the Wall Street Journal regularly. I watched CNN, CNBC, PBS and MSNBC.

Now I no longer get print copies of any newspapers. I don't watch any cable news channels. I still have an online subscription to the NY Times, mostly for word games, recipes, book and theatre reviews. If I want hard news, I'll look at The Guardian online.

I cannot stomach the sight or sound of the orange a$$hole. Republicans enrage me at their cowardly, traitorous, and self serving behavior. The misogyny, racism, bigotry, hypocrisy ,and complete lack of compassion for others in this country make me sick. I do not need a daily reminder of it from any source.

If I see a news story on DU that I want to follow up, I will click links or do a search for more information. But by and large, I avoid the news now.

Better for me to read the news than the emotional distress of watching it
