(7,308 posts)Trump seems to be going after everyone, Jerome powell is white and he would like to fire him as well.

(43,844 posts)I think all women make him feel inadequate. Smart and strong men also make him feel inadequate. Jerome Powell is an untouchable and he feels inadequate next to that.

(20,630 posts)Sen. Tim Scott and Rep. Byron Donalds have been basically quiet as they are the only 2 African-Americans in Congress. You do not see them standing up for their comrades.
Has anyone wondered why the Sec. of HUD is not in the room doing the Pressers in the Oval Office?
It should be obvious that TACO sees African Americans as less than a human being.

(8,103 posts)He hasn't been able to run off Jerome Powell, so he found someone to fire under pretext. He's trying to control the central bank, and the money, for his own benefit. This is about power.

(1,389 posts)He's been after Powell too. But apparently Cook played loose with the mortgage rules giving Trump an opening that apparently Powell hasn't. Doesn't mean it's not wrong, but it also doesn't mean Cook should have gotten the reduced interest rate while using the house as an Airbnb investment (if that's what she did).
But because of the specific wording of the question, I had to vote no. I think it was just a coincidence that she's a black woman in Trump's primary goal. Of course he's not smart enough to realize that getting interest rates artificially low won't do what he wants, but he's not very smart

(2,547 posts)He's also attempting to go after AG James, another Black woman, on the same bogus charges. The con artist has a problem with Black women in positions of power.

(105,581 posts)Having made that decision, he'll have seen a Black woman and thought "well, she obviously needs to go first - someone find an excuse, or make one up".

(referring to the White Queen in Alice in Wonderland) but he cannot believe the spate of firings and accusations of mortgage fraud are any kind of coincidence. He says it appears to be a smear in all these current cases an allegation without basis, evidence, or formal charges.
Trump is going after anyone who has ever opposed him, but some get special attention i.e. black women mayors and black women appointed office holders. It is very largely race-based and misogynistic.
But dont imagine anyone else at all is safe: Senator Adam Schiff is also being accused of mortgage fraud on a dwelling he paid off in full long ago.
