What IS the unified Dem vision?

Not what you think it ought to be. Not what you’ve heard one or two folks in Congress say. I’m asking what any person on the street would say if you asked them.

I know what I’d like it to be, something like you will never again be drained of your lifeblood by billionaires and corporations under Democratic leadership. Something that speaks to where everyone except for the above-mentioned vampires is hurting.

I plead, but knock, knock, who's there.

An open letter to Democratic leaders. This is our Normandy. Marshall all our forces or lose to fascist rule.

At this point it's ON US.
Please follow Activist Headquarters.

The "Sound of Silence" from leaders is going to get us all killed.

A grassroots revolution is needed for the party to win.
https://www.democraticunderground.com/13244015

The short of it is that AOC and Bernie Sanders (lately, just Bernie) have been barnstorming the county, including deep red districts, with resounding applause of their message, the short of which is:

The rich own 90% of the country, and are killing us. We need to put an end to rule by the wealthy, of the wealthy and for the wealthy.

And the party (well, you know) the party ain't going to take on the oligarchs, meaning they aren't going to take on the problem. And people focus on hot-button "rage" issues instead. Nothing gets solved. It only gets worse.

Details are at the above links.

Short version of our situation. GOP focuses on hit button rage issues and their colossal grand felony gets a pass.

The "TOUR" message is getting great response.
But, you know .....

It took only 22 years lol. And I know. I read all your posts about this. I have to tell you I’m in the valley of despair right now. I mean, if we can’t get pushback on the abuse, maybe at least articulate a vision for how the future might look different?

who can proclaim that vision and unify us around it, it doesnt matter what the vision is.

There are several who’d like to be that person, but I cant point to any particular one who stands above. And I cant even remember the name of the DNC head is. Absent a Democratic President, Speaker or Majority Leader, you’d think the DNC head would step in. I never see him or her anywhere.

I see the pushback by No Kings and Indivisible, but who is creating a permanent policy presence?

DU?

Less the bickering. (OMG the bickering)

I posted the "Bernie Tour" mostly economic issues. That was the point of the tour. Root causes.

I don't want to downplay critical social issues.

The party doesn't want to offend oligarchs.

Maybe I'll start a thread, but this format is not so suited to refinement of a message or alternatives.

More like a github free, but it would require new accounts, since I don't expect DU to implement single signing. They might just have to be separate from DU, perhaps by invitation managed by someone at DU. OR have the github account owner check DU credentials.

I could start an OP responsive to replies, but that could grow into a very large and controversial job.

My ignore list is pretty big, so I am not terrifically neutral.

I could start with Bernie's mostly economic, "tour" issues and add my old post about values.

As a starting point.

From Bernie:

People attending rallies in huge numbers are saying
YES to raising the minimum wage,
YES to expanding Social Security,
YES to guaranteeing health care as a human right,
YES to cutting the cost of prescription drugs,
YES to paid family and medical leave,
YES to equal pay for equal work,
YES to more affordable housing,
YES to making childcare and higher education affordable to all,
YES to taking on the existential threat of climate change.

And most importantly they are saying
YES to a government and an economy that works for all of us and not just the billionaire class and the Oligarchs.

My previous post. (2023)

Democrats have compassion for others.

• When every person
  a. is guaranteed rights, opportunity, and equity,
  b. can make a good living,
  c. is respected,
then all benefit and the nation benefits.
• Government invests in its citizens.
• Labor and innovation create wealth.
• Productivity gains are shared with those who are less blessed than others.
• Government is by the people and for the people.
• The legal system protects rights, especially of minorities.
In short: equality, honor and fairness.

The thugs have no compassion.
They believe that:
• Money and power are concentrated in the hands of a few.
• Business grows by monopoly aggregation and by stifling competition.
• Freedom means no regulation. Nothing more.
• Government enforces "the economic order" (a caste system)
• Workers and voters are kept from uniting, chiefly by a divide and conquer strategy, i.e culture wars.
• Welfare for the rich. The fraud called "Trickle Down" really means "golden showers". (wink, wink)
In short: inequality, arrogance and privilege

or just outrage over imagined/manufactured fears.
