Al Gore on fire:

Al Gore didn’t hold back: The Trump admin is “attacking the heart of truth,” twisting facts like the Nazis did in the 1930s. From climate denial to rewriting the Ukraine war, it’s all about power—not reality.
Gore warned the U.S. is under siege—and every former leader should speak out like he did.

Yeah, I know we hate Maher, but it was a good interview, a good guest, and plenty of respect from Maher.

should have been giving speeches like this since Trump said that he would run again.

Would it have changed the outcome of the election? I doubt it. But at least the Democratic leaders would have been on record as being on the correct side of history.

Gore made a series of speeches. It seemed like it was after we invaded Iraq and tortured people. Those speeches were the most powerful I had ever heard up to that point.

it was reported that the guy was hilarious in private. i remember reading about some of his jokes and pranks. very self deprecating. imagine if he had made fun of w at every opportunity.

any wonder we want authenticity in our candidates above all else these days?

They ALWAYS hate the smartest guy in the room.
Or Woman... Hillary's "basket of deplorables" sounded so effete (like it does right now) that it supercharged the goobers just enough, along with Comey's knife-in-the-back, to make the difference.
I always thought Gore would have been a much better direction for America. And, that guy "Chad" tipped the election, whoever he was.
I'm glad he's still on it. I wish him well.

about Hillary's "basket of deplorables" is that she said half of his supporters were in that basket.

She was just about right.

good thing about the Stolen Election of 2000 is that we did NOT get Joe Lieberman as Vice President.

I didn't like him then and loathed him later. For me, there is NO rehabilitation for that man.

There were MUCH better options.

But I would still prefer to have had Al Gore in office, even if it meant having the awful Lieberman!

The SC calling the election for GWB before the vote count was finished paved the way for the SC to make decades of rulings establishing a permanant republican majority, while gutting the voting rights act. I think they gutted it even further just in the last few days?

26. Pence HAS spoken out a little

Not a peep from Cheney or W Bush. Obama has said a bunch of words, but no call to action. We need to hear from ALL of them: Quayle, ,Clinton -- the former POTUSes and VPs should be coming forward as a team with one voice. We don't expect them to agree on policy, but if they cannot stand together for our Constitution and rule of law at this pivotal moment, then to hell with all of them.

And that goes for former speakers and majority leaders,: Hastert, Gingrich, Ryan, Pelosi, Boehner, McCarthy, McConnell, Schumer, Daschle, Frist -- ALL of them. Where are they?

Kudos to Gore for finally speaking the truth in plain English. Now pick up the damn phone and get the others on board. They should be planning the mother of all town hall broadcasts. And the opening statement should be something like:

In this room, we have most of the leaders of our government over the past generation. We have often been on opposite sides of public policy issues, sometimes bitterly so. But the one thing every man and woman on this stage has in common is love for our country and an absolute commitment to our Constitution and rule of law. We come before the American people tonight, not to debate public policy. That is not our role as former leaders, and our democratic form of government provides the framework for debating and deciding public policy. We don't always get that right, but it is a system that has worked for 250 years. We are here tonight to defend that constitutional system. and to turn back the forces that seek to turn this system into something completely different, something that would be totally unrecognizable and abhorrent to our founding fathers

If they cannot do this, then we must assume that they are actually in favor of the fascism that is upon us.
