(52,218 posts)I don't expect to ever get over it. He's a better person than I am, as I'm not inclined to forgive those who treated him so disgracefully. I say that as a person who tends to be very forgiving.

Ive got NO complaints about Joe Biden except that I wish he were at least a little bit younger. But we DID get him for two terms as Obamas Veep, and one term of his own. Not enough to suit my tastes but at least he earned four years in the White House, and nobody can take that away from him (OR from us!).
PatSeg
(52,218 posts)especially considering he only had the house and senate for two years of that term and with very small margins. Just imagine what he could have accomplished if he had both houses for all four years. His handling of the economy was brilliant and often original.
What was particularly sad to me is that even among Democrats, he wasn't getting the recognition he most definitely deserved. I guess we have to leave that to history.

(17,327 posts)They didn't know how good we had it until that abomination that is squatting in our White House showed us how terrible things can be. They can all rot in hell as far as I'm concerned.
President Biden looks really good in this picture and that will get under the orange felon's skin for sure. Even on his worst day, Biden looks better than that slovenly piece of excrement ever did or ever will.

(21,613 posts)A rear admiral in the U.S. Navy, Irve Le Moyne, was undergoing radiation therapy for head and neck cancer and told his doctor, Kian Ang, M.D., Ph.D., that he planned to follow a Navy tradition of ringing a bell to signify when the job was done. He brought a brass bell to his last treatment, rang it several times and left it as a donation. It was mounted on a wall plaque in the Main Buildings Radiation Treatment Center with the inscription:
Ringing Out
Ring this bell
Three times well
Its toll to clearly say,
My treatments done
This course is run
And I am on my way!

(19,974 posts)I'm thrilled he made it to this stage of his treatment. Congratulations on putting in all that hard work Mr President!
My only regret is his oncology center doesn't also toss confetti on you. There's something oddly uplifting to see that stray bit of confetti in an elevator or in the parking garage to help remind a person there's a happy ending for all that work and some lucky person just experienced it.

(9,287 posts)about his diagnosis, and also the comments from others here who had received the same diagnosis and had rung the bell, I believed this day would come. But I didn't have any idea it would come this rapidly, or that it would tear me up as much as it did. Thanks to Joe, his medical team, and LetMyPeopleVote for sharing. Dear God, how I miss him./

(67,799 posts)before he had to give it up and let Kamala take her lonely fight to Election Day. I truly believed she would be our next President and election night was a trauma for me and my husband. I don't think this country can elect a woman President during my lifetime, perhaps never. I find that strange and it depresses me no end.

Congrats to the best President of my life.

(17,059 posts)Joe is a good man. He got us through to the other side of the COVID pandemic. He picked up the pieces and put this country back together. All at an age where he should have been able to sit on the back porch under an afghan and take it easy. He worked his ass off for all of us - even the ones who didn't vote for him.
Goodness shows.
Stark contrast to the orange jerk in the White House now who posts videos literally showing him spew crap on anyone who doesn't kiss his ass.
We lost so much. The idiots who didn't see this. The idiots who just followed all the hate. I hope karma catches up to them.
And lastly, I will always wonder if Joe would have won had he stayed in the race. I don't give a phuck what anyone said.
