And private donors are funding the wretched ballroom. And there are probably other projects that private volunteers are funding.
If we simply taxed the billionaires fairly, then Congress could decide which projects have priority (salaries, SNAP, Medicaid/Medicare, etc) and properly fund those programs. That's the way government is supposed to work.
