(981 posts)Too bad that Biden went with Casper Milquetoast instead.

(37,418 posts)This defrocked member of the Turd Reich freshly extradited from Argentina is as guilty as sin.
Chat AG: Tap. Tap. Tap. Oh, I agree completely! Do you need help with that conviction? Would you like 34,098,345,987,903,001 pieces of irrefutable evidence of their guilt? Even more if you switch to the non-pro version and I can hallucinate a bit.

(57,377 posts)Which he probably can't because he's controversial. Jack Smith would be good as AG too.

(22,002 posts)Unless we elect a senate majority willing to kill the filibuster and expand the court, it wont matter who the AG is in 2029.
Undoing the damage of the Trump era, and holding the criminals of his administration accountable cant happen until the current MAGA majority is dethroned. Otherwise, any attempts at accountability will be blocked, and any laws to restore democracy will be overturned.
Forget about 2029, and focus on 2026- two senate races, in ME and IA, and possibly one in TX, are Dems best shots at picking up seats in an otherwise dismal senate map.
The current Maine candidates are flawed (Mills is pro-filibuster) and unlikely to beat Collins, but there is still plenty of time to find someone who can, and will be ready to expand the court under the next Dem president.
Im not aware of any Dems running for Ernests seat in IA yet, but in TX, Talarico is a great choice- if he can win.
There will be plenty of time to speculate on who the best Dem AG would be- but, first things first.

Never mind that she'd go through Trump's minions like a chainsaw through balsa wood. That wouldn't ever be a consideration.
Nope. Never.

(26,026 posts)NOT Garland. I never want to see him again in politics what-so-ever. We needed someone who 'shook' the boat, excited the voting public, and made more of a fuss on the stage, but he didn't. Very disappointed and bitter about him. Sometimes, in picking these candidates, sometimes more must be paid attention to how they handle the public vs. the actual doings of the AG job itself, after all, they'll have all kinds of people reporting to them that can manage the shop.
