(71,019 posts)... changing them when we take over again. We vote NO on all of them. The Problem is that with no candidates or offices on the ballots most Democrats won't get out to vote and the light attendance to the early voting tells me me most voters were GOP and this shit will pass.
The world is run by people who show up. The Democrats need to start showing up. Plenty of important things happen in office year elections. How often do we have to FA and FO before it sinks in?

(19,260 posts)issue.
They want to build a new cafeteria in the elementary school and two new gyms.
Still a little disappointed that they won't do a performance space for theater and band, but moving forward on this makes me think that maybe they won't consolidate our school right away.

Prop 50 is an issue. Voting boundaries are proposed for change. Does not effect my county but effect who votes for our representative.
Have only had vote by mail and no polling station where I live for 20 years or so. Once liked to go and vote but like the convenience of mail in voting.

(1,753 posts)It's the only time I'm not out to vote. Haven't otherwise missed elections since Reagan v Mondale. And wasn't that a disappointing election. As usual, the Dem got sh*t on, and no one really tried to counter it. Not that I really liked Mondale, but he was much better than Reagan.
That was also the election where I schooled my then-husband about how I was going to vote and he had no say in the matter. We still had those huge booths with the curtain and the levers. Had to wait hours to get our turn.

(1,804 posts)I voted early, and fortunately for me it will be a sweep for the Ds in my suburb outside of Albany. Some of the races had no R candidate. They have a hard time fielding candidates in my town. 😃

(1,100 posts)The temporary redistricting amendment to the state Constitution. One additional thing I like about this amendment is that it calls on Congress to pass legislation to authorize an amendment to the U.S. Constitution requiring all states to use an independent redistricting commission for federal offices. This will only affect Congressional districts.
I've already voted YES on 50 the day after I received my mail-in ballot.
