The rehabilitation of war criminal dick cheney is in full swing, everywhere.

And frankly, it is nauseating. He spoke out against krasnov??? He helped create the orange monster, let us never forget. One moment of clarity (and, personally, I think it was jealousy that krasnov is a bigger grifter and wannabe tyrant) does NOT make up for a lifetime of evil.

But maybe what looks like rehabilitation is actually just a recognition that by comparison to what we've got now, he only looks very bad instead of spectacularly bad and galactically stupid.

I agree with most of your post, except for the part above, I think it had to do with Been A Dick Donald and his miserable band of MAGAt's going after his daughter, he was like a mama bear protecting her cub, but you are right, one good deed does not wipe out a lifetime of evill.

When reporters ask too many questions he doesn't like or write too many unflattering things about him, they can get kicked out of the White House press corps. I think reporters are under a lot of pressure from their employers to avoid doing that.

Unfortunately, reporters have bills to pay just like the rest of us and need to keep their jobs, and most of the major media outlets are either in "don't rock the boat" mode or are owned by billionaire Trump sycophants. It sucks big time.

Did I mention that Tillman was going to come out against the invasion of Iraq and had contacted Noam Chomsky on that subject?

And the lasting damage of lying not only to the public, but also to the men and women who sign up to protect this country from actual threats.

there were at least at least some very negative assessments. I heard of his death when it was mentioned on NPR. Shortly after, there was BBC News which was pretty hard on him, especially in a longish segment where an Iraqi spoke of Cheney. Referring to after the fact comments that even knowing everything, it was the right thing to do. Asked if eliminating Saddam was worth it. His answer was very stark - over 1 million dead and the infrastructure decimated - no, it was not worth it.
