My extended family has been doing this for years. My grandparents did it in the ‘40’s!

My parents have had a place in Florida since the 70’s. My mother was a snowbird and my dad flew back and forth from NY to FL every weekend. When he finally retired they were snowbirds for about 10 years until they finally sold their place up north and lived all year in Florida. My mom, who is 96, is still there. She can’t take the cold anymore at all, so we are go see her instead of her coming here for a month or so in the summer.

Many of my friends are now residents of Florida, but still come home to NY from about June-Oct/Nov. .
