They never cared about criminals and drug smugglers. It was just an excuse to amass an aggressive private military to intimidate and terrorize American citizens. Trump's own brownshirts.

I've kept my distance from him since TSF began campaigning in 2023...This is a person I really care about who knows I am a "liberal" and has declared me "a good person" despite being a liberal. He is also a cop who has declared after school shootings that he believes in the Constitution...I wonder how he would justify what the administration is doing now and how he would continue to justify it if he were to be abducted by ICE while working in his yard on his day off. This is a person I really do care about, but a part of me wishes he could experience what so many other innocents are experiencing. I want my friend back, but I want my country back more.

"Sally was kidnapped" is a weak thing to say when the reality is "Dick kidnapped Sally" and we're too gutless to say so because Dick's political appointees might pull our broadcasting license.

It seems only the law can stop this abuse. The elections are a long way off. Can’t count on that.

Obviously, a Democratic Governor like JB Pritzker or Gavin Newsom is going to be more involved than a Repuke like Ron DeSantis. But the biggest point is to get a lot of angry phone calls into the governmental offices. Calling your state and local representatives, writing letters to the editors of your local newspapers. It all counts to get people mad and ready to do something about it.

Incumbent Repukes have to run for re-election too - other than DeSantis - so they are going to care that people are angry and blaming them. Rallies like the "No Kings" rally last month REALLY make a difference. Those events got news coverage and social media was all over it too. So getting involved locally and meeting up with like-minded people will lead to changes.

But nothing happens overnight. That's the problem.

They let the mother and the two sons go but kept the dad and he is in alligator Alcatraz. One of the sons has an inoperable brain tumor.

My friend got a call from the teen aged daughter. Dad was deported to Mexico. Mother was sent to Texas. Both children are school age and now on their own.
These were hard working long time residents with no criminal record and everything legal. Wish I had more details about who is helping the children to figure out how to proceed.
