there will be another Democrat elected to the House via a Special Election Runoff in Texas in January (both candidates in the runoff are Democrats). There is also a Special Election in December in Tennessee which is likely to be won by the Republican, but there is at least an extremely slight but nonzero chance for the Democrat to win.

There would then be 217 Republicans to our 214 if they were expelled. One of the vacant seats is a run off in January between 2 Democrats, the other is the TN seat where Republicans are favored.

So, until elections to replace these two, on any piece of legislation, he could lose at most ONE representative and if, in a miracle, we win TN, he can't lose any with 217 R to 216 D. Not to mention, given their dysfunction, could we get one Republican to become independent and caucus with us?
