I believe Biden did have some leeway in getting "friends and helpers" out of Afghanistan, before the troops were completely gone. Joe Biden did the best he could to save as many as possible.

to bug out overnight and leave everything there.......That base was trying to protect the Syrian (good guy) rebels from the dictator ASSAD, who was ruler at the time, and a lap poodle for Putin.

A UN/Hague team was investigating for a year, the use by Assad of chemical weapons on entire towns that were thought to have the people rebelling against him. The IN/Hague team had just concluded their investigation, and had proof that Putin/Russia had supplied chemical bombs, and that ASSAD had dropped them on the towns, Killing off Men, Women, Children and infants.
Those Syrians all died an excruciating death. The UN/Hague team barely got out with the factual evidence and gave it to the UN/Hague, and ASSAD got a military base with all our equipment as a bonus for all he had done.

BTW:....The team all got large solid gold Nobel Peace Medallions for their work...........Eat your heart out Trump......

Republicans like to whine that Biden left billions of dollars of equipment to the
Taliban. That's exactly what Trump arranged, leaving the equipment to the government of
Afghanistan, which happened to be Trump's friends, the Taliban.
