As much as I despised Reagan and Bush (as in loathed in both cases), I don't think they wanted me to hate them. When they enter the Gates of Hell, where both deserve to reside, they'll still be trying to get us to shake their hands and like them.

Trump revels in the hate. He's really a psychopath, but apparently that is more palatable to people than having a President who stammered during a debate.

If I have to crawl over broken glass, hot lava, cacti, and acid pools, I'm going. And before I get there, I plan to bottle up a gallon or so of urine to pour on it in addition to emptying my bladder.
