I just saw Tom Cotton in front of the cameras say out loud that he didnt see a 2nd strike on a defenseless ship but rather on 2 men that he saw trying the flip the boat back over, gather up the drugs and continue on to the United States😂😂😂. Senator that may be the dumbest thing Ive ever heard out of a sitting senators mouth and thats saying something. Clearly youve never attempted to flip a boat in open water let alone a larger boat like these. Let alone if it did flip over how is a boat thats been hit by a mussel still able to continue on without taking on water?

It's about giving them a choice of what to believe.
People, Any people, tend to believe what they want, so they need something to latch onto for that.
The fact that it's idiotic on its face doesn't matter.
The solution is to Ridicule this chain of stupid when you encounter it.

(31,747 posts)was NEVER coming to the USA. The Caribbean ( I used to live on a island there ) is pretty big. They didn't have the fuel to travel all the way without stops. Not to mention a open hull craft like that would be difficult across an open sea.
You also don't pack 11 people into a boat that is taking drugs someplace. More people, less drugs.
If such a boat had drugs, it was probably also trying to smuggle people as well... and not to the USA, much more likely would be either Trinidad / Tobago or the ABC islands... and from there the drugs and illegals go to... almost anywhere ( Europe, Canada, Mexico, etc ). Why go by boat... well the Darian Gap is very very dangerous ( the land route from Venezuela to Panama ). Going by boat would seem to be the safer choice, but for Trump and Kegsbreath.

Sen Tom (Stolen Valor) Cotton!
Sen. Tom Cotton Bragged He Was an Army Ranger. He Was Not
The senator never served as an Army Ranger, he only attended the Armys two-month Ranger School, which is open to all members of the military
Passing the Ranger school is a tremendous accomplishment but that was not enough for Tom to brag about. He deleted it from his bio when called out on it.

The inhumanity of these actions appears to be the point whether at sea or on the streets of America. Anyone of color, that would be brown people at the moment, are suspect and deserve cruel treatment. In country, New Orleans is now the target as ICE ravages Hispanic neighborhoods and runs roughshod over individual rights, a dragnet for anyone who fits the profile from the same community that helped rebuild New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
All of these actions are illegal, inhumane and disgusting. Tom Cotton is complicit as he shrugs and pretends nothing to see here.

That is the part that gets me. People that voted for republicans claiming that Democrats are " elitist" - when the Republicans are the ones with billionaires buying influence and their representatives thinking that their voters are stupid.
Democrats just ask that you treat everyone fairly, and stop treating women as second class citizens. Which helps us all, even republican women, for that you are labeled " elitist"

Cotton should never have made it as far as the House - he comes from a black majority district. Some powerful people back him and you can bet he's of the opinion, true or not and it likely isn't, to be the orange fatty's heir to the "throne".
The damage done when Cotton and the rest fight for supremacy when the orange fatty croaks will unfortunately not be limited to the Maga party, and Cotton is the last of them to be concerned about collateral damage.

(192 posts)How functional do you think you would be after being blown off a boat? Do you think you could hear anything for starters? Have any of these people been around live explosions or munitions without hearing protection? Even with hearing protection, what about the physical shock of the explosion? I'm not buying the idea that they would be very functional, much less be able to find a radio to call anyone. I'd give it a 1% chance if that. Then again, I've never been blown out of a boat so I don't know for certain.

(34 posts)The people on these boats have not been identified as criminals of any sort, nor has their cargo (if any) been proven to be drugs. Offenses against survivors of ships lost at sea are listed as a war crime in the U.S. Naval Handbook. The U.S. military manual on the laws of war gives orders to fire on shipwrecked persons as an example of an "unlawful order" that service members must refuse. The US prohibition against firing on shipwreck survivors goes back to 1863. Firing on helpless enemy combatants is also contrary to international law and the Geneva Conventions.
