"No, it won't mean a thing in a hundred years."

There is a great song by the band Blues Traveler called "100 Years."

While it is about the fact that our daily struggles won't mean a thing in a hundred years, it has often made me think of that benchmark.

With the clearly extrajudicial murders going on in the Caribbean and Pacific, the extreme cruelty being leveled at immigrants who've committed no crime other than trying to make a better life, and the pardoning of criminals aligned with the current Administration, it seems relevant that Volume 1 of Mein Kampf was published in 1925 and Volume 2 in 1926--almost exactly 100 years ago.

Is one hundred years really how long it takes to not mean a thing?
