The Real Reason for ICE Masks and Anonymity

It's not about the fear of being doxxed and threatened at all. That's what they say, but that's not even close.

The masks and hidden identities and nametags are deliberate. Designed so those ICE agents can get away with violating the human and constitutional rights of those they grab, detain, deport, and otherwise disappear.

Nobody, and I mean nobody knows who those individual ICE agents are, other than themselves and maybe their buddies. If someone's rights are violated, or if they are injured or even killed, nobody will be able to identify the individual ICE agents who did the violations or harm. There are no records of who was there on a particular actions, I suspect, so there's nobody who can be charged for such violations of the law.

The anonymity of ICE agents is a feature, not a flaw.

We don't know who they are. We don't know how they were selected. We don't know how they were trained. We don't know anything about them. They are anonymous and unidentifiable. They can't be held to account, because they cannot be identified. It's sort of a perfect disguise for people who want or are ordered to break the laws through their actions.

I don't see any move to change any of this. We don't know how much they are paid. We don't know much of anything about those men who are mobbing people where they live, work, go to school or walk down the street. They can't be identified, so we can't hold them to account for any crimes they commit.

This is a very, very dangerous problem, for which I find no ready solution.

It does sort of up the ante on resistance and pushback. While there is some risk, given their absurd costumery and toy armaments, if outnumbered 2- or 3-to-one, a citizen's arrest of these illegal stupid, cowardly, trumpfoons might proof illuminating.

They show up and insist that they leave. Typically, the ICE troops do leave. Apparently, they don't want controversy that becomes public. Too much risk of exposure.

Frankly, Noem isn't sending their best. I suspect that a majority of them could not hold a law enforcement job where real vetting and background checks are done. There seem to be some bad actors among the ICE cops, from what I've seen.

Because ICE agents don't identify themselves as such, no one can really be sure if someone claiming to be ICE is ICE. This creates fear in the population - you can't be sure if this person is going to arrest you, perform a disgusting act against you or kill you. And since Trump has decided to follow the Robespierre Playbook step-by-step, this is a good thing.

Abolish ICE. It isn't like the police departments that seem like they have been around forever, ICE was started under Bush Jr and in fact it is a lot of Bush era policies that are enabling Trump the most to govern like a fascist.

ICE has been abducting, incarcerating, and deporting people before they started wearing masks. I think there has to be more of a solution than to unmask ICE (not directed at you but at the politicians in office or running for office).

I know at this point it isn't likely to happen but it is something for a future Democratic administration to consider.

One strategy we could employ is to schedule a member of Congress to tour an ICE facility every day. Surprise inspections would be better, but even scheduled inspections would suspend their sadism party for a day. So we do it every day.

Sun Dec 7, 2025, 02:00 PM
Dec 2025

There were agents who masked every trace,
Keeping hidden each name, badge, and face.
As the critics all say,
Such concealment, each day,
Makes accountability vanish without a place.

In the shadows they move, unassigned,
With identities never aligned.
For the people who fear
What they see disappear,
It's a system opaque by design.

“When rights are abused,” some contend,
“There's no record of who to defend.”
With no tags and no logs,
Just anonymity’s fogs,
Due process meets a troubling end.

"How they're chosen?" the skeptics all sigh—
“There are no clear answers to why.”
Unknown training, unknown pay,
Unknown deeds in the fray,
Leaves a danger too stark to deny.

So the worry grows heavy and stark,
That the practice is more than a quirk.
With no names to be known,
Every harm stands alone,
And the law cannot finish its work.
