FBI Leader Crumbles During Basic Questions About Threat of "Antifa" -- New Republic

https://newrepublic.com/post/204308/fbi-leader-threat-antifa-questions-congress

Well, this sure sounds like a confession that antifa’s designation as a domestic terror group was based on nothing.

(Michael Glasheen - another case of nominative determinism*)

The FBI’s branch and operations director couldn’t answer basic questions about the Trump administration’s designation of antifa as a terrorist organization at a congressional hearing Thursday.

Michael Glasheen was testifying before the House Committee on Homeland Security, and told Democratic Representative Bennie Thompson that after antifa, a political designation and movement that stands for “anti-fascism,” was designated by President Trump as a domestic terrorist organization, “that’s our primary concern right now.”

Antifa is “the most immediate violent threat we’re facing on the domestic side,” Glasheen said, prompting Thompson to ask, “So where is antifa headquartered?”

Glasheen was tripped up, and tried to say, “What we’re doing right now with the organization—” before Thompson cut him off and firmly asked, “Where in the United States does antifa exist, if it’s a terrorist organization and you’ve identified it as number one?”

. . .

“Sir, you wouldn’t come to this committee and say something you can’t prove, I know. I know you wouldn’t do that. But you did,” Thompson concluded.

. . .

association, etc., like the Proud Boys, the Klan, the Russian Mafia or the Trump Organization. "Antifa" is a Republican fever dream, a bullshit attempt to criminalize political opposition.

I'd like to see the DOJ try to prosecute these fictional "Antifa terrorists." They couldn't even convict a guy videotaped hitting an ICE goon in the chest with a Subway sandwich.

Probably a good story here.

to stay there.

I have some experience with this having worked 35 years in the federal government. A lot of really fine people, but also some
-- like anywhere -- who are about climbing and staying there or higher above all else.

and a few words was magnificent, powerful, and made his point crystal clear. It was a pleasure to see him in action. He didn't take any crap or let the liar try to duck the carefully designed questions. I really enjoyed watching him at the hearing.

He should have answered by first saying to Trump, "Sorry about that (commander in) chief." And answered the question about identifying Antifa by saying, "Would you believe, people who like to dress in all black clothing?" But in the end, he did not impress anyone with is understanding of the point of the hearing because he, "Missed it by that much."

If antifa is against the trump administration and antifa is anti fascist, then isn't it true the current republican administration with trump as leader is ...fascist?
Doesn't that make antifa pro democracy?
And since you are a member of that organization, are you then a fascist?

Under oath?
