It may hearten you all to know that I recently went on a shopping expedition for a world globe. I searched high and low for just the right one and looked at dozens and dozens. Not one, however, NOT ONE, called it anything but the Gulf of Mexico. Just as a matter of curiosity, I tried to find one that depicted the GofA, and couldn't.
