BITCOIN MINING. It's my understanding that mining bitcoin demands a tremendous amount of electricity, and is extremely expensive. I guess that if you could get the government to pay for the cost and then keep the profits, one could become extremely wealthy. Sounds like a scam right up Dump's alley if he can figure out a way to set it all in motion before he croaks or runs out of his time as president. I don't know all that much about such an operation, so it's just a guess.

It's pretty clear that both the amount of space Trump is claiming the ballroom he is building will take up (90,000 square feet) and the cost of the project far exceeds any other logical explanation. Plus all the other evidence Drey marshals is substantive.

But. Not very secret, it seems. But I know less than nothing.

One thing that I learned while in the service with a TS clearance is that the best way to hide something big is either have it built at different facilities where the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Or, do it right in front of their faces and they won't have a clue until it's done...

You also wouldn't want to build it someplace that is a definite target in the event of a nuclear war...which the White House surely is.

You would also want to build it into bedrock, to protect it and to have a heat sink to keep it cool. There is no bedrock beneath the White House.

I guess we'll see if they pull 2 million cubic feet of soil out of that hole. Excavating a space that big requires removing a lot of dirt, and that dirt has to go somewhere.

My money is still on Trump building a secret sex dungeon underneath the ballroom for his high roller donors.
