content at any one time. We do not know an exact quantity of documents, photos etc. We have seen various numbers of gigs of info and estimates but I have never seen an official DOJ number of exact numbers of pages, photos etc. All Blanche has said recently is "hundreds of thousands of pages" to be released. This aspect about an exact number is critically important along with an index of the subject/type of each file/document.
Given the vague response from DOJ it allows them to completely withhold documents and nobody would know they exist unless there is an outside source to verify the existence of a document that should have been released but has not been released. The back and forth between DOJ trying to hide material by way of omissions and redactions and the victims and their lawyers and others trying to force release of all materials is likely to go on at least as long as a couple of years unless the Supreme Court steps in to block release sooner.
Even if we get court orders regarding release, and I note we must fight in the courts even if it takes a long time, there is no indication by their past and current practice regarding court cases that DOJ will comply. Also we must prepare ourselves for the very real circumstance that DOJ may simply destroy material and then claim to the court that the documents that are the subject of the order do not exist. Given DOJ blessing the things they have been doing so far in other areas the idea that they will destroy things rather than release them would come easy to people who are blessing kidnapping, extortion and death in other matters and lying to the courts about that conduct.
The videos taken by the CIA during the torture of prisoners is an example where the evidence was openly and willfully destroyed despite court orders and the official responsible was never held accountable in any significant way. Even if DOJ is conclusively backed into a corner regarding investigative materials being destroyed it is most likely that Blanche etc. will try to claim things like "an investigation was done into what happened but we were unable to determine who destroyed these materials" or some other lame excuse. Another example is the Secret Service agents phone info from January 6th.
Bottom line is once it's gone it's gone and everyone will play the weasel word game to absolve themselves of knowledge and responsibility. I think the plan for "cleansing" the files has been implemented since January of this year and was likely in discussion well before that. I believe the extensive interviews of Maxwell went way beyond anything we have seen released about those interviews. I believe that Blanche knew very well that Maxwell could "bird dog" names, approximate dates, acts that took place, locations of acts, methods, money, the girls involved, photos etc. and that her providing that info would make the "cleansing" of the voluminous files to be more targeted and completed more quickly and thoroughly than if they had to just start blindly going through files. She could point them to the "worst of the worst" and let them make sure they "got" that part dealt with as the highest priority.
Any sane person knows she got something for giving something. The something she gave was not for the benefit of the victims or the full disclosure of materials to the public. She's not stupid about her situation or why Blanche was coming to see her. She knows how this works among the wealthy. Give them something and you will get something. Refuse them and you may get something as well but in a very negative way.

(2,769 posts)and she told them in so many words "yes for sure" and they went "okay". She has no real reason to talk, she'd denied everything all along and not worked with authorities. If she was gonna talk, she would've. But they threw her a sop to make totally sure, and to maybe show some love for her omertà.
I mean yeah, she could've helped with directions like you suggest. But making sure she'll shut up about Trump, both before and after when he pardons her after the midterms? I'd guess that's mostly what they "paid her for" with the move. Her silence would be the big ticket item, and they bought it.
Corrupt-ass, criminal bastards that they all are

(8,686 posts)back to the original prison or worse. The minute I heard Blanche was going to see her I knew it was for some kind of deal and then when he spent 2 whole days "interviewing" her it sealed it for me that he going for info that didn't come out at her trial because he already had that and for what she could give him specifically about Crumb the 1st.
So the idea that she supposedly said Crumb The 1st was never into the girls is bogus on its' face and for what it's worth convicts lie so that is nothing new.
