I always thought Phil Mickelson was just that guy who played second fiddle to Tiger Woods, and they hated each other, but apparently, they do have something in common, they're both forever Trumpers
Phil Mickelson is not one to shy away from voicing his opinion on politics on social media and now he wants to see people of power arrested. Mila Joy, a politically conservative X user took to her account to raise a list of people, asking if anyone else should be added.
She posted, Current top 10 list of who Kash Patel needs to arrest: 1. George Soros 2. Tim Walz 3. Barack Obama 4. Joe Biden 5. Tim Walz 6. Gavin Newsom 7. Ilhan Omar 8. Adam Schiff 9. Hillary Clinton 10. Anthony Fauci. Who did I miss?
Mickelson, with absolutely no regrets, replied, Theres plenty more but this is a great start! despite no indication of why any of the aforementioned names should be arrested.

(75,852 posts)He had this "everyman" image & his fans ate it up.
He was nothing close.
Arrogant, entitled jerk; mean to workers & volunteers; dismissive of fellow competitors; pompous; dumb as a box of rocks.
He was a privileged army brat who grew up on private golf courses.
The info in the OP doesn't surprise me at all.

(8,994 posts)When people throw that accusation out about random people, most of the time it's just stupid and ridiculous. Mickelson on the other hand would actually make sense - he meets a number of the characteristics. That said, I seriously doubt that he is, but I definitely wouldn't rule it out.

(17,433 posts)'Phil Mickelson wagered over $1 billion, tried to bet on Ryder Cup, book alleges'
(ESPN) "Phil Mickelson bet more than $1 billion on football, basketball and baseball over the past three decades and even allegedly attempted to place a $400,000 wager on Team USA in the 2012 Ryder Cup in which he participated, according to an upcoming book by renowned professional gambler Billy Walters."
"Excerpts of the book 'Gambler: Secrets from a Life of Risk' were first reported Thursday by Fire Pit Collective and provide the most detailed look yet at Mickelson's sports gambling and his relationship with Walters, a Las Vegas businessman who is widely considered to be the most successful American bettor ever."
"Citing betting records and 'two very reliable sources,' Walters writes that from 2010 to 2014, Mickelson made 858 bets of $220,000 and 1,115 bets of $110,000. He estimates Mickelson endured losses of approximately $100 million while betting more than $1 billion over the past three decades."
"According to the book excerpts, in September 2012, Mickelson called Walters from Medinah Country Club during the 39th Ryder Cup and asked Walters to place a $400,000 wager for him on the U.S. team to win...Walters responded by scolding Mickelson: 'Have you lost your %&*$ing mind? Don't you remember what happened to Pete Rose? You're seen as the modern-day Arnold Palmer. You'd risk all that for this? I want no part of it.' "
"Walters added that he didn't know whether Mickelson placed the bet elsewhere. The Americans lost the Ryder Cup to the Europeans by one point..."Mickelson denied ever betting on the Ryder Cup, saying later Thursday in a statement that he 'would never undermine the integrity of the game.' "

(49,654 posts)Hey, Phil. Pay your fucking taxes.
Remember when Obama won first term he was in video raging that he would go broke have to stop playing golf because Obama taxes would destroy his life? So why the fuck is he still around???? I hope sciatica hits him hard and the only thing he can then swing ever again is the rubber replica of Arnold Palmers magnificent dick that is kept in trumps bedroom. Safety first, keep a trump huge condom on it to stop the spread of DJTVD.

(24,743 posts)Earlier in his career, his golf game was inspiring and his crazy risk taking was thrilling. When he won the Masters in 2010 it was a great tournament.
But then his outrageous gambling came to light, his sordid family life and then his defection to the Saudis LIV was the last straw for me to care about him.
Incidentally, most professional golfers grew up in country clubs surrounded by Republicans. Add to that background that the successful players end up quite wealthy thank you, Tiger and their backgrounds often steer them towards Conservatism.
I love to golf but I will never join a country club as there is plenty of fine public golf in the States and elsewhere.
Phil can fuck off but I doubt he cares what I think.

(105,567 posts)Because this is all performative bullshit that requires the bigots to turn off thought, and let their faulty stream of hatred free - or to just praise the hater without hesitation.
There's no indication of "why", because there isn't a "why", really, beyond the hater's feelings. Tomorrow, Walz might not be on the list at all.
