Asha Rangappa has thoughts on the bootlegged CBS footage making the rounds.

This is America now.

All of these bootlegged copies of the 60 Minutes segment flooding my feed (saying, â€˜Watch it quick! Before it disappears!â€™) makes me feel like Iâ€™m in the Soviet Union and just got some black market foreign newspaper I need to hide under a floorboard in my house.

I just watched it. The only reason they don't want this released is cuz we're treating people worse than livestock. just as disturbing to me, is how many people I know are okay with this.

I just watched it.

People often got their news from neighboring Uruguayan radio - which, though under a dictatorship themselves, it was a little less fascist and, in any case, didn't mind reporting about the insanity in Argentina.

That's how the public first became aware of large numbers of people washing up on the shores of Uruguay. And that most of them were Argentine, and had been visibly tortured.

Like in the U.S. right now, many applauded.... It did not end well for anyone.

We have a family friend who escaped from Argentina as a teenager. Got out before he was 'disappeared'. He is now a very successful engineer. His wife is also an immigrant, from Italy. Under current Trump rules neither would be allowed in.

Then TSA is requesting a facial image, why?
I decline the facial image, every time I fly.

Papeles, por favor? I got that in Indio, Ca. I'm a born American, of Italian-Irish ancestry. It was 1964. It scared the shit out'a me. I was 20 years old, had no papers, other than a N.J. driver's license.
