There's ten of millions of lives at stake in this equation. And it's in the right-here, right-now.

But I don't think there is such a plan. Say what you will about Bush II, he was surrounded by a LOT smarter people than the quislings Trump has gathered 'round. The people at the PNAC were generally much more schooled in international relations, statecraft, and warfare than the people at the Heritage Foundation, put it like that. And taking over Iraq had been gamed out for years prior.

And where is the money to "run" Venezuela coming from? What is budget for this operation? My bet is that there isn't one of sufficient size to effectively do so, although more pallets of cash handed out to cronies of the administration seem like a foregone conclusion

And although Iraq's population was larger, VZ is twice its size, area-wise. Fortunately however VZ was never outfitted to fight a proxy war for the US like Iraq was, and there isn't the history of sectarian divides like Iraq had, kept in check by the authority of the dictator, so keeping order in VZ should be a smoother operation, but it's still almost certain to cost a freaking fortune, even if violence against occupying forces should be much lower.

Oh, and also, we may end up with 0 allies that will be contributing money or forces.
