Putin Had To Give Krasnov The OK To Do This

This is the quid part of the arrangement, wondering what the quo part will be? What will Krasnov have to do for Putin?

Will this make Putin's invasion of Ukraine look less egregious? Nah, don't think so.

If Krasnov went rogue on Putin, he's in deep shit. I still think Putin gave his blessing.

Will China feel more emboldened to take Taiwan?

What is Putin getting out of this? Putin needs the price of oil to go up, it went down here in central Pa.

Maduro is a firm ally of Russia
Venezuela owes Russia a lot of money. Their oil sales are being used to pay the debt.
A hostile (to the US) Venezuela is an asset to Russia by helping keep US focus distracted in the Caribbean.
Russia has been sending weapons to Venezuela that will need the assistance of Russian troops located there. That investment is now wasted

Now they can point to US as an example and do the same thing to Zelensky. Except they probably won’t arrest him.
