How could an American attorney possibly mount a defense? The indictments are for drug and gun charges would require a defense that originates in Venezuela so how would anyone put that together?
As a side note, the great trial lawyer Gerry Spence did win a not guilty verdict for Imelda Marcos many years ago. So it is possible to win a case against the DOJ.
