What the hell business do Americans have sitting in a court of judgment against Maduro?

...not only should he have a right to be tried in his own country, but the people of Venezuela have the right to stand in judgment of him and prosecute Maduro as they see fit.

No one can trust the judgment of jurors who have been fed a steady stream of wildly inflated propaganda by his U.S. accusers, including the POTUS, about the threat from this political leader who has never expressed any aggression toward Americans in any form, much less any declaration of hostilities against the U.S..

That's not including the ridiculous claims from the Trump administration that Maduro sent 'drug gangs' to the U.S., or is engaged in smuggling fentanyl to America, which isn't some exclusive product to Venezuela, or even their main drug export of choice which is primarily cocaine.

There's never been a legitimate national security threat to the U.S. from Maduro, and anything that comes out of the prosecution attesting to that will be the same trumped up lies we've heard in the run-up which included extra-judicial murders ordered by Hegseth and Trump against boaters in international waters without one shred of evidence presented to anyone, not Congress, nor the American people of their guilt in anything, much less the claims that were used to precipitate this assault, invasion and kidnapping.

What kind of shithole nation engages in the kind of kangaroo prosecution that's coming? At the very least, Noriega's capture and prosecution in the past came with actual threats by his regime against the U.S. to go with the opportunistic drug trafficking allegations.

This naked imperialism comes with assertions by Trump today that the U.S. will 'run' Venezuela like it's some vulture-capitalist acquisition waiting to be divested and apportioned to U.S investors, of which Trump's associates are undoubtedly already in line to steal a portion of the country's vital resources.

This isn't just imperialism, it's gangsterism using our country's resources and national defenses as Trump's international thugs. I can't think of anything that would convince this is anything less abominable than America taking what they want from a sovereign nation just because they think they're able.

But the worst to come is for Americans who are now the subjects of a man who has assumed our military forces are his personal tool to force nations to comply with his will and whim. Hard to imagine we're insulated from all of that increasingly emboldened thuggery.

Indeed, this autocratic hijacking of the American posture and reputation around the globe to suit Trump's own personal interests has already compromised us all immeasurably.

That even if this incompetent DOJ gets an indictment, they won't be able to convict.
Hung jury even more likely.
