First, the Swiss bar fire.

Then the removal of Maduro.

Then North Korea fired some missiles.

And that's just what was in the G7 news features about human actions. Nature also served up some curveballs.

just two weeks ago (without my old doggy girl, fortunately as she's just too painful in the joints for long hikes). I've had close encounters before (not on this trail), but apparently a lot of others had.

While I feel lucky, there is kind of a survivor's guilt too running through me, even though I didn't know...
