I've been wanting to go back and learn more about this incredible person. I think the impetus was from watching "Shock and Awe" about Knight Ridder's attempt to expose the lies of the GW Bush administration. So many parallels with the current repuglicon disaster unfolding now.
Quote from this documentary: "There is a batty degree of triumphilism loose in this country right now."
Both excellent shows about the past and the present and future US.

(22,692 posts)I always enjoyed her writing. This documentary gave me so much more admiration for her, the person and woman, and the struggles she had.

(25,549 posts)Her humor, while biting the leadership, both Texas and presidential, was delightful. Maybe Ill pull out one of my paperback books of hers and sit back and reminisce. A treasure that left us way too soon

I thought it should have been better recognized as what fearless and intelligent women they were.
It's truly sad to see how far Texas has fallen in the last 3 decades.
I loved spending time there, but I'll never spend another dollar there until the insanity stops.
If you haven't seen the movie, I beg you to find and watch it.
