We have an illegitimate POTUS currently. That has not changed just because SCOTUS made sure he was on the ballot. He is illegitimate per the UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION.

but many of the January 6th rioters had served time in prison before they were pardoned by trump which may have had a lasting effect.

The report, shared with The Hill, notes that at least 23 individuals charged in connection with the sprawling Jan. 6 case committed new crimes between the attack and President Trump’s second inauguration last January.

These crimes include plotting the murder of FBI agents in retaliation for investigating the case; violent assault; strangulation; possession of child sexual abuse material and reckless DUI homicide.

“The January 6th mass pardon may serve President Trump’s most extreme political purposes by creating a private militia of proven street fighters ‘standing back and standing by’ for future street battles, but it is a nightmare for American public safety,” the report added.

You mean like ICE? Because that's where a whole helluva lot of them are currently "employed".

At the time, there was no doubt that there was a violent insurrection, but since then, many have rewritten history. How pliant memories can be.

In 2016, sane reasonable people were quite certain that Trump was not qualified to be president, but in 2024 we all knew beyond a doubt that he would be a horrible president. He'd already shown us.

There is something seriously wrong with tens of millions of voters who thought he deserved a second chance and that he was more qualified than Kamala Harris. Better a vile, corrupt white man evidently, than a highly qualified woman. Can't blame racism, as the country already voted for a black man twice. This country still has serious problems with women in positions of power.

They shot and killed on rioter.

Should have been issued automatic weapons and lots of ammo then stacked the bodies up about 10 deep around the Capitol.

In every other instance of a failed coup that I know of, the coup plotters and their troops on the ground were either:
1. executed, or,
2. imprisoned for a long time, or,
3.exiled and never allowed back in the country.

I'm in favor of #1 but 2 or 3 works for me.

It should have been a bloodbath. We would not be so fucked as a country as we are today if the Capital police just opened fire on the FUCKING TRAITORS.

as they were telling people to wear all black to look like antifa.

That the police were not prepared proves it was a premeditated setup at the highest levels.
