I Thought By Now We'd Be Hearing From The People About Rising Healthcare Premiums And Hungry People....

because of many of the food programs being cut.

Are the people just not complaining or is the press just not reporting.

Seems like crickets!!!

And I would add that many are probably in shock. Further, they’re back at work, kids are back in school, we’ve got an influenza outbreak that is absolutely massive and groceries are insanely expensive. Lots of balls to keep in the air for folks.

Some folks are really scared - in the middle of major medical treatments, losing coverage for expensive scripts. Other scrambling to figure out how to pay for bills higher than their housing payments. Pregnant women are particularly scared.

Trump administration freezes billions in social services funding to five Democratic states

.... The freeze, first reported by the New York Post, will impact California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota and New York, according to news reports confirmed by HHS.

HHS will cut more than $7 billion in funding for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program, which provides cash assistance to households, along with more than $2 billion for the Child Care and Development Fund. The department will also hold around $870 million from the Social Services Block Grant. ....

The news comes just days after the Trump administration paused federal funding of child care programs in Minnesota amid a deepening federal probe into allegations of fraud involving social services. The allegations were made in a YouTube video by 23-year-old content creator Nick Shirley, who claimed, with little evidence, that Somali-run child care centers in Minnesota were fraudulently taking funding meant to provide child care for low-income families.

In the wake of the viral video, the Department of Homeland Security and FBI ramped up their presence in the state, federal funding for child care there was frozen and the Trump administration said it is deploying 2,000 federal agents as part of an immigration crackdown. Federal and state investigations into alleged wrongdoing are ongoing. ....

Here, straight from the horse's mouth: I've yet to even pay this month's premium because it went up close to $200 more each month and I need to wait for the next paycheck to pay for it.

EDIT: And I'm a (relatively) young non-smoker with just me covered under my policy. I've heard some family policies going up $1,000+ each month.

folks will really be howling.

I'm self-insured and my family's monthly insurance premium went up $700! Obscene....

We had to scramble to find another plan who's costs stayed 'about the same' as what we paid in December

Same with rent subsidies. Every safety net has been slashed. Something to remember, the poor don't have a voice in this country. No lobbying. Dems are minority party for now, so zero representation. Desperate dark times are just getting started
