Since we now see the escalation of invading our neighbors

in the hemisphere and extorting them for their resources does anybody really doubt whether the attack on media that criticizes those moves will ramp up? Does the example of Netanyahu in Israel attacking and closing Al Jazeera make Crumb the 1st itchy to move in that same direction? Since we see that the military has been purged of those who would refuse to follow unlawful orders do we doubt that they would follow orders to shut down a media outlet? Do we doubt that they will be deployed heavily in the mid-terms? Worst of all do we doubt that there are soldiers in the military who would shoot demonstrators?

Does that conjecture sound too extreme and unthinkable? Things that were "too extreme" and "unthinkable" 12 months ago have already happened. We need to realize there is no limit to what they will do. We need to think about action plans for things like a general strike, massive coordinated economic action against corporations by way of boycotts and cancellation of purchasing/subscribing etc.

It is not enough to just go along from horror to horror and express our disgust in words. They don't care about our opinions or words. They care about money. Be prepared to move our purchasing to only things we really need rather than "wants". For example nobody really "needs" Netflix. Most people don't really "need" Amazon. Start impacting their financial gravy train by targeting where you spend and don't spend and what you buy or don't buy.

If you are a Democrat, Progressive, Socialist etc. and you have the awful situation of living in a MAGA town or area don't go to functions they put on like festivals, fairs, street sales etc. They use good attendance numbers at these sorts of things to claim the community is showing support and acceptance of their policies and attitudes. Knock that down by not attending.

The bottom line is go beyond words of disgust and take actions that are peaceful but can have a major impact. The recent lesson that Disney got handed to them over Jimmy Kimmel is a good example. We can have an impact at the national, regional, state and local level when we affect their money and ability to claim things like attendance equating to support for their nonsense.
