Trump's angry snowflake butthurt MAGAt KENNEDY CENTER goon cries a river after legendary bluegrass musician cancels

Grammy-winning bluegrass performer Béla Fleck cited political influence for withdrawing from an upcoming show at the venue, which now has signage calling it “The Donald J. Trump and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.”

“Performing there has become charged and political, at an institution where the focus should be on the music,” Fleck posted on social media on Tuesday before pulling out of three shows with the National Symphony Orchestra due to take place at the venue in February as part of the “American Mosaic” series.

“I look forward to playing with the NSO another time in the future when we can together share and celebrate art,” Fleck added.

“You just made it political and caved to the woke mob who wants you to perform for only Lefties,” Grenell posted on X, channelling MAGA talking points.

“This mob pressuring you will never be happy until you only play for Democrats.”

the poster made a comment?

I think it's more important to give one's opinion than to just provide links, but that's just me, I get in trouble for not providing links for my opinions.

I only get my news from a handful of sources, so I rarely click on links.
MSNBC is not a right wing source but I will only watch 3 or 4 cable news anchors who work there.

If the poster thinks I am attacking him/her then feel free to respond with an alert. My comment about posters who do links but don't give an opinion about the link he/she posted applies to everyone here who does that.

Unless it's about dogs and cats.

My opinion about the Kennedy Center is that everything Trump touches, dies, that shows where I stand. Trump put his name on the Kennedy Center, that made it political, saying that Democrats won't be happy until only Democrats are allowed to go there is a big pile of BS that gas lights the truth.

When we're all siloed into our own ideologically-preferred sources we don't learn much about what's going on outside the silo. And we need to know.

If I feel the need to comment, it goes in the thread title. If I feel like I need to say more than that, I post it at the top of the thread and place the article and link in an except box.

I never just copy and paste right wing blather.

And, I worked from the assumption that DU knows who Grenell is and what he is, so it didn't require a backstory from me.

There is nothing remotely right wing about your OP. I read the full article at the link and it's not right-wing either.

Get there early, because the crab puffs are always the first to go.

And the make your own taco bar? Last month it was cleaned out in the first 45 minutes.

The board, appointed his own board and changed the name of the Center. Timelines matter.

Everything you said, 100% a matter of public record for anyone who wants it, AND YET...we are STILL supposed to be spellbound by Trump making an "apolitical" move to install loyalists on the board and spray his foul scent all over the institution itself. And those of us who SEE that are "woke." I think I got all of that correct, right?

He didn't give his opinion either, he just cut and pasted other peoples' statements. I'm sure he isn't a right wing reporter and I never heard of him, but I'm just saying that my lowly opinion is that authors should give their opinions.

Trump took control of the Kennedy Center's board and forced them to illegally add his name to the building, that is what made the Kennedy Center political, period. We shouldn't have to debate why performers are canceling, it should be obvious.

Trump's name on the Kennedy Center is illegal and is not up for debate.

...I am a stickler for adhering to the "4 paragraphs of copyrighted material" rule, although I DO cheat a little sometimes, because of the number of "one sentence paragraphs" (which I think are deliberate for that very reason).

The actual title of his article was "Trump Goon Melts Down After Latest Kennedy Center Boycott."

I think his characterization of Grenell as a goon melting down qualifies as commentary.

No one here's giving Grenell a pass, an open forum. It's DU, not CNN or Bari Weiss' CBS Evening News. No right wingers are given a pass to mouth off, unchallenged, but as I said above, DU knows who Grenell is, and I didn't thing a lengthy condemnation from me and a disclaimer of what he said was required. I've logged 21,731 posts here...I think most of the regulars know where I'm coming from on most subjects.

Once in a while I guess we need to see how Magats are talking about issues and then condemn them.

I live among Magats and I learned early on it's pointless to debate them, but I do throw zingers at them that they can't respond to.

I remember back when John Solomon was a big shot at The Hill, and he wrote more than 2 dozen articles about "Stop The Steal."

Solomon is gone from The Hill, I believe, but I refuse to click on any link from that rag.

I get a lot of my news from freespeechtv.org where they speak the language I want to hear. Today is Malcolm Nance day there, it's where I got the idea that Democrats should run someone like Nance for president in 2028, think outside the box, don't nominate a politician, nominate a tough SOB.
