Walz gives order to prepare National Guard after ICE officer fatally shoots woman in Minneapolis"I remind you, a warning order is a heads-up for folks, and these National Guard troops are our National Guard troops," Walz said.
My question is, for what are his National Guard troops being ordered to prepare? What does he have in mind?
There may be a quote where he's more specific but if so I missed it. If not then I suppose we can only speculate.

(7,559 posts)To avoid confusion with ICE, in the event he need to deploy them. Just a thought.

(58,389 posts)He is moving his pieces. Using his authority as governor to maintain order. If order is maintained, good. If it isn't, he's in a defensive position already and has broadcast the Federal government to stay out of MN business.
It is a very subtle and adept display of power by a dude that is a hell of a lot more intelligent than his media persona.
Obviously, I don't know. I suspect Machiavelli's razor in Walz actions, both because I like him and because I am very angry.

(5,557 posts)... a search for Machiavelli's razor returns conflicting results with some saying it's confused with Hanlon's Razor, and some defining it in a way that sounds way more evil than good, so it's not clear what you mean here.
Anyway, I'm sure governors of other states are watching this very closely.
Edit: Hanlon's Razor

I am using to mean that every action in politics serves the purpose of advancing an agenda.
