David Letterman: "we're far over the cliff, and the midterms may not save us."

DAVID LETTERMAN ON CBS NEWS(MAX): “It has been trampled on, pissed on, and eviscerated by these idiots that have taken it over.”

He also says we’re far over the cliff, and the midterms may not save us. 😕🇺🇸

what a sh#$@t show trump is, but really, what does he know about politics? Do you seriously think he knows any more than some of us who have studied this situation for decades?

Or more than respected experts like Heather Cox Richardson?

I'm shrugging this off because I don't think he has the expertise to make a judgment worth listening to.

Besides that, his beard is a turnoff, LOL.

check ID's, doing their thuggery as a means to keep people from voting in progressive areas. His excuse will be to keep "us" safe and to prevent voter fraud. He doesn't need the Insurrection Act, he will just do it because he can imho.

This administration has done so much damage in such a short period of time, it is too hard for the courts to keep up with all the criminality.

He has learned to just keep plowing ahead with whatever hairbrained idea pops in his head, because he knows there will be no meaningful consequences. Whenever he starts to feel the heat, he just comes up with another over-the-top distraction.

If more than half of congress hadn't sold their souls, at least there would be a chance he could be stopped or at least slowed down.

Sure with a Democratic majority we can prevent Republican legislation and if we have a majority in the Senate we stop judicial appointments. All important. But unless we can impeach and convict the nightmare continues.

Or maybe we hope Republicans stop being cowards...Yeah right.

Not sure he's saying that there won't be fixes to government with the midterms, but that CBS news will take more time. That said, not sure how many fixes to expect in government, either.

I have learned that a general strike will not work at this time and in the USA. It's a great idea but it is not do-able. The US citizens are not 100% into a general strike and you must have the overwhelming support of the citizens, which we do not have right now. Europe has successful general strikes but our country is not like European countries.

?si=sQYB2XnxhKYjhGWJ

We have done the massive, record breaking nationwide protests, that IS a big deal!
Yet a unified, strong message is what these actions needs to be successful.

National boycotts is the next step.

Boycotts work!!!!! Look at Jimmy Kimmel as an example. The MAGA/GOP's agenda is strictly in it to fill their overstuffed pocketbooks with more and more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!

No matter how many Democrats we elect it's not going to be like flipping a light switch but it's super important we do everything in our power to make sure as many Democrats get elected as possible. They will have a lot of work to do to make our country better but we can do it!

Let's win those midterms and then take things step by step, undo all the damage Trump has done and build things back even better than they were before! Let's make sure another Trump is not possible in this country. Some say Trump is the symptom of a deeper problem in this country.
