I'm deep in Texas here, surrounded by these crazy ass fascist (and gun) loving Trumpers.

Maybe I do need a gun after all.

I enjoy going to the range or plinking around in the woods. I have three stashed in places should I ever need one for protection. We live nine miles from the nearest town. Thankfullly, we’ve never needed to act.

I understand those that dont want them around. I briefly tried concealed carry but could never feel comfortable doing it, so I stopped.

You are thinking of getting a gun for the purpose of killing another human being. It takes a great deal of training to reach a level of proficiency in not just handling a gun but to be able to make split second decisions on whether or not deadly force is warranted when faced with a situation. Then you need to implement a training routine in order to maintain that level of proficiency.

What I think is crazy is that the 2nd amendment guys always said that they needed their guns in case the government invaded the states. I guess we know who took the jobs with ice.

For other purposes, I may consider trip wires and other booby traps. I'd probably start with glitter bombs. It's one way to mark a target, I guess. 🤷‍♀️

If they are masked and will not identify themselves, I think one has a right to defend their lives, property and family. If that means using force…. Then that’s that.

Basically just committed suicide by cop. Then there’s the possibility that any loved one in your home gets injured or possibly killed during the shootout.

Besides, "no one owns life but anyone who can pick u0 a frying pan owns death."==William S. Burroughs

As a practical matter, keep your door locked and demand a warrant. Most of the time, they're just fishing and won't be able to get one of those. They'll pull out a bullhorn and issue threats for a while, then they'll generally go away.

Perhaps a soaking with something foul smelling to the point they'd go home and bathe and change clothes?

I spooked out a clerk in the garden section of Walmart when I asked him which hornet spray had the most powerful stream. He asked if I was trying to reach a nest in a difficult area, and blanched when I explained to him that it was my intention to sleep with the can beside my bed, rather than a gun under my pillow. Another woman nearby us ended up buying a can too. Aim for the eyes!

Seriously though, one must consider that, one, they are better armed, better trained, and two, there are more of them than you. The important thing being what you do may place loved ones in harm's way or leave them to fend for themselves.

The fkrs are spoiling for a fight... for an excuse. Perhaps the victory is in not giving them... HIM... one.
