I was just laid off by The Washington Post in the middle of a warzone. I have no words. I'm devastated.

Unbelievable

I resisted cancelling my WP subscription for a long time but I'd finally had enough shortly before the 2024 election. Screw Jeff Bezos and the editorial section of the WP.

The oligarchs buy up the media, then destroy the media. I bet he Bezos gets a great tax write off.

Tax the oligarchs!

Could this be a sign that Bezos works for put!n?

... Are there any hospital wings honoring Bezos' generosity? Are there any charities that bear his name? Has he ever done anything good for people in need? Has he made contributions to areas devastated by natural disasters? I would think we'd hear something about it if he had, but... crickets.
It would appear that he's just an insufferably rotten, pathologically selfish prick. I would like to be wrong about this, but I don't think I am. One can't be a Trump supporter and a good person. They are mutually exclusive concepts.

So, Bezos could absorb those losses on on week of wealth for longer than 5 years.

Or editors?

You can just make up whatever news you want with an LLM!
No more inconvenient stories from Eurasia, no more bad publicity about your movie that nobody can stand to watch, no more backtalk!

You can just sit behind your big desk, and dictate the stories you want the plebes to believe!

When I started delivering, a subscription cost $1.75 per month, delivered to the door. That went up to $1.95 as some point, which was great for me, because some of my more generous customers would give ne a 5 cent tip. Today, the WP isn't worth $1.75 a month, and certainly not $1.95, except maybe for the comic strips. The comic strips were great in those days.
