(986 posts)...since his demise, no one quotes any of his "great thoughts". His sole contribution to the "war of ideas" conservatives like to talk about was the epithet "femi-nazis". That's his lasting legacy.

(26,062 posts)It would have been a bigger favor. Luckily, his skills were easily replaced and no one really misses him at all. Apparently being a know nothing blowhard for the wealthy elite is essentially not that hard. All it takes is a complete lack of morals, self respect, or ethics. The GOP has a near endless supply in these qualities.

(2,944 posts)I was waiting in a line of 15 cars for my Covid booster shot when I hear it on the radio.
And exactly 4 weeks earlier I was in the same line for my initial shot when a relative called to let me know her ex, who no one in the family cared for, had passed.
Too bad there wasn't a 3rd shot 4 weeks later, could have been interesting!

(29,013 posts)as a topic for an essay. Now Republican voters firmly believe that whites face the most discrimination and setbacks and would never vote for Democrats because they hate white people. One of the reasons Republicans don't have to worry about their policies being disastrous, not why their voters vote. Mission accomplished.

(1,945 posts)I loved his soviet Union updates. When the SU failed he started ranting and raving about liberals and democrats so I changed the station and never listened again.

(17 posts)My husband was brain-washed from listening to Rush . And that changed him . Then came Fox TV and now it is the worst of all, thinking that Trump is a good president.

(114,555 posts)and I am deeply grateful that he has remained dead.
I hold him personally responsible for coarsening political speech and turning it into naked schoolyard bullying, something that is still echoing through this country every time a MAGAt opens his or her mouth, although it has become more civil with everyone else. People who relied on Limbaugh to fill their empty heads with slogans and meanness now have to rely on Fatso and he's not really up to the job.
In another decade, his infouence is likely to be gone everywhere but nursing homes. I just hope he stays dead and a replacement able to inspire hate, sadism, and gratuitous cruelty through bullying doesn't appear.
