Another quick update:

I'm proud to say that my grand daughter is taking her first load out by herself in preparation of taking over the business, she's picking up a load at the Albertsons distribution center in Phoenix, AZ and taking it to the Albertsons Grocery store in Pahrump, NV, just a short run but it will give her experience in driving alone without grandpa in the passenger seat.
I am so proud of her.

of her we all are?

A little story about women truckers: Many, many years ago, I was driving a large u-haul from Colorado Springs to Lake Tahoe. Stopped in Wendover for a break. In the restroom were two young girls, who were thrilled when they heard I was driving a truck, having never heard of a woman trucker (I know, u-hauls don't count! They thought I was driving a rig!). I told them that if that was what they wanted to do when they grew up, they could go to school for it. (Yes, even back in the dark ages, there were women truckers. One of my uncles (a long-hauler) worked with several.)

I hope I was at least able to let them see possibilites, not just pre-determined paths.

She loves the open road, she's single, independent and confident of her driving skills, as am I, otherwise, I would still be riding with her.

...but not in envy. She must be very brave and confident. How old is she?

I trust no one in a car (or truck, or on a motorcycle) - not the people next to me, not the people in front of me, not the people coming up behind me, and certainly not the people coming toward me. If I am waiting to make a left turn and my arrow turns green, I always wait for the 3-5 people I know are going to run the red light. Driving is one of my least favorite things, so driving for a living would be one of the very last things I would want to do. And, as my husband would attest, I'm not much better as a passenger - a real nervous Nellie. I would happily get my molecules scattered and reconstituted in a Star Trek transporter - .

More power to her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She's now headed to one of the copper mines in Miami, AZ to pick up a load of copper and deliver it to Ontario, CA.
So far, she's doing great and no complaints from grandpa.
A little at a time.
