Five ways Trump could try to tilt the midterm elections in his favor

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/feb/25/trump-midterm-elections-voting-influence

This an article from The Guardian. And it scares the hell out of me.

Mainly because I don't just think Trump and his mob will try and do this. He WILL do this.

States adopt voting restrictions.

Trump issues an executive order imposing voter ID and proof of citizenship.

Republicans accuse elections officials of crimes.

The federal government seizes voting machines or ballots.

Federal agents occupy cities and surround polls.

and he and his minions will do the same even at the state level in some cases. I have already heard that several of the GOP primaries in Texas will do hand counts which does not allow for recount - sounds pretty sneaky to me.

He won because 9 million fewer voters showed up at the polls out of apathy, cynicism, despair or delusion that they were going to send a “message” on Gaza.

Kooky evidence-free conspiracy theories don’t help us win the midterms.

suppression across the country.

Yes, we the people put this monster in place in '24 knowing he was a convicted felon. Elections have consequences and we are all paying the price now.

Don't ever doubt that he will never admit to losing nor will his supporters across the country.

But you know who will not allow it? WE THE PEOPLE!

As the infamous "W" once said...

"Fool me once, shame on... shame on you. Fool me—you can't get fooled again" 😂

Good thing most of them are dystopian fantasies or physically impossible.

States adopt voting restrictions.yes, many states have already done this, and Dems are still winning special elections by large margins- see GA, TX

Trump issues an executive order imposing voter ID and proof of citizenship.Trump’s executive orders on voting have already been ignored by the states, are unenforceable, and will not affect the midterms

Republicans accuse elections officials of crimes. This happened in 2020, 2022 and 2024. How did that work out for Sidney Powell, Rudy Giuliani, Mark Levin and other lawyers who were disbarred? How did that work out for Tina Peters?

The federal government seizes voting machines or ballots. This assumes the government would be successful in seizing enough voting machines or ballots before results are certified by the states, and without resistance from the states, the courts and the people

Federal agents occupy cities and surround polls.Physically impossible on a nationwide scale, and presumes success without resistance. “They will just pick a few strategic Dem districts” How are they going to know which districts to pick when recent elections have shown 15-30 point swings in previous Trump districts towards Dems?

We are dealing with an evil clown car of goat rodeo rejects, not an army of well trained efficient Nazi’s.

Do not give in to demoralizing defeatist Doomerism- instead, never forget this one absolute truth:

Trump is not omnipotent, and the states and the people are not powerless

Despite acting with lawless impunity on a daily basis, there are numerous examples where this administration has been stalled, stymied or restrained.

Just because someone types something on the internet does not make that thing plausible, possible or probable, even if it tickles all the right spots on your amygdala.

Nothing can stop the Blue Tsunami this November.

You don't vote for candidates, you vote for electors to nominate/approve the candidates.
That's the weak link in the electoral system.
Also refusing to seat elected officials.

a Democrat elected last fall in a special election for a house seat and Johnson refused to swear her in for weeks? If Nancy Pelosi had done that heads on the Republican side would have exploded.

Election integrity is THE issue for 2026. No matter what the polls show, TSF is stating he’s trying to steal the election, and has enough power to possibly succeed. He’ll do whatever he can federally and red states will do what they can on their own or in conjunction with TSF.

I believe he succeeded in 2016, failed in 2020, and succeeded again in 2024. I think he tries every time to rig it somehow. I don’t believe either of his wins were legitimate.

The Democratic Party as a whole is not addressing this with anywhere near the urgency or priority I believe is warranted.

Failure is not an option. Falling prey to fear of challenging results because of TSF’s continuing accusations of Democrats stealing elections is not acceptable.

In my opinion, the Democratic Party must address the possibility of Republicans rigging multiple elections vigorously and preemptively, starting yesterday.
