(40,107 posts)In that period, he was kinda a nobody, but he put on a spectacular show (he included his daughter in the show). Soon after a saw him, I noticed came-back from the doldrums. Solid songwriter even if it wasnt stuff I was really interested in.

(27,369 posts)I have Sirius FN satellite radio in my car and this one channel yacht rock plays the song all the time. I heard it yesterday and was humming along with it !
RIP Neil you brought great music into our lives in the 70s !

(101,930 posts)You Are So Beautiful. My Eyes Adored You. Having My Baby. Rock Me Gently. All different artists I know, but I like 70s music now more than in the 70s. Your friends would make fun of you if you said you liked it.

(101,930 posts)Someone must have been buying them. Andy Kim was at the Capitol Records building in Hollywood and Andy Kim was there for business and John Lennon came in. John told him how much he loved Rock Me Gently.

(40,107 posts)We I saw him, he mostly performed all his Brill Building pop/bubble gum music. Solid music, but not my thing.

(7,813 posts)Go figure, like Elton, Neil was a prolific songwriter and also played the piano very well. Neil recorded for Elton's Rocket Records.
I 'liked' him on Facebook. He would play vignettes of some of his famous songs and placed them on FB. Facebook can be such a good social media site. Sigh.
