I took my car in for maintenance yesterday and was very pleased to see that the TV was not on Fox alleged "news."

They had on HGTV where I watched a program about two guys rehabbing houses in Detroit. I tried going on my phone, but their WiFi wasn't secure and I tried reading the book I had brought with me but I was tired (had to get up early and hadn't slept well the night before) and it was making me too sleepy so I was glad to see something I could watch on the TV. I think I was the only one there who was watching; everyone else was on their phones or laptops.

I don't ever see Fox alleged "news" anywhere I go anymore, which is a good thing. It used to be everywhere. Now I see GSN, ESPN or HGTV.

I see a lot of shows about people building
tiny houses.

It's actually interesting.

It's probably wise for them to just put PBS on or some of those home remodeling shows, which is what I see most in various waiting rooms.

and then I spend the whole time lying back in the chair looking up at the ceiling! I can't even see the closed captioning, let alone hear the audio.

It's either on National Geographic Channel or Nickelodeon (or Disney+ ) if there's a lot of younger kids in the waiting room.

Most Doctors offices I've seen lately have WebMD Streaming TV with local advertising, traffic, and Weather Channel weather/pollen count/air quality interspersed.
Our Credit Union has HGTV on in the financial services waiting area (lol).

Unfortunately HGTV canceled it so there are no new episodes this year.

They take dilapidated houses and make them absolutely beautiful. In the episode I saw, they rehabbed one house for themselves and then at the end had neighbors and their realtor friend over for a housewarming party. The only thing I didn't like was the front of the house. It was an improvement over the original, but it just wasn't my taste. I wouldn't have chosen it.

The next episode started but after about 10 minutes my car was ready. The house was in such a state of disrepair and deterioration that it should have been bulldozed. It wasn't even safe for them to walk in it. I would've liked to have to seen how that house turned out, but I didn't go straight home; I had to run a few errands. I hope they show it again.
