Government apparently agrees to the same terms with OpenAI as it rejected from Anthropic. Why? 25 million guesses.

Sam Altman tweets:

AI safety and wide distribution of benefits are the core of our mission. Two of our most important safety principles are prohibitions on domestic mass surveillance and human responsibility for the use of force, including for autonomous weapon systems. The DoW agrees with these principles, reflects them in law and policy, and we put them into our agreement.

WTF? Didn't Anthropic insist on the same?

Or maybe the "tribute" wasn't sufficient???
I'd bet a few bucks that was the case.

INSUFFICIENT BRIBE?

So check this out:

The whole thing was a scam
The fix was in, and Dario never had a chance.

Probably you already saw how it all turned out. On the very same day that Altman offered public support to Amodei, he signed a deal to take away Amodei’s business, with a deal that wasn’t all that different. You can’t get more Altman than that.

But here’s the kicker: Per The New York Times,

Let that sink in. Altman had secretly been working on the deal since Wednesday.
- before he announced his support for Dario
- before Trump had denounced Anthropic
- but after Brockman had donated 25M to Trump’s PAC

Well, isn't that precious?
